Golf Cart Use

Use of golf carts are permitted on public streets within the city limits on streets approved in the the city's Personal Transportation Vehicle (PTV) plan.  The streets in Summit Lake are public streets and are included in the PTV use area.

Golf carts must meet the requirements (proof of insurance, headlights, brake lights, turn signals, mirrors, etc) as set forth by the city.  And, golf carts must have a permit issued thru the city.  A driver of a golf cart must have a valid drivers license.  Normal traffic rules and regulations, including open container laws, apply to golf cart use when driven on public streets.
